It's interesting the things you pick up when conversing with co-workers. Today I was visiting with my co-worker in the know, and she told me what happened last week when they pitched out the latest casualty. It apparently wasn't pretty.
But, what I have gleaned from these few conversations I've had this morning is that the new regime is interested in two things, and two things only.
1. To hold as much power as possible and to wield that power with an iron fist.
and
2, To only have people on staff who are so afraid they're willing to say yes to any request.
Obviously my days are numbered.
Now, the person who got pitched last week assured me that I was not on a list. That there are others who are on that list. Unfortunately, the professional demise of two of those people would directly impact me. I can rest assured that I'd wind up doing both of their jobs in addition to my own, and of course wouldn't be able to keep up. This is their plan I guarantee it.
So, starting Monday on such a grim note does not bode well for the rest of the week, but I'll forge ahead. What else is there to do?
It's gray again. After this weekend's non snow event. It was primarily a slush storm. As I always say, "When the weather people give it the big buildup. It ain't gonna happen." That axiom proved true again Saturday.
Happy Trails:
