I'm trying to be gracious to the local weather people.
They're making it difficult.
I wish I could count the number of times this winter they've said:
"Lookout!!!" "It's gonna snow!" "We're gonna get clobbered." (I'm paraphrasing, of course, weather people are far more well-spoken than that.)
My irritation with them is that they're inevitably incorrect in these dire predictions.
Last night was a prime example. "Up to 10 inches of snow" was predicted for the area, (admittedly, they said it cold go north of here, which it did.) When it finally did start it was late in the evening and all it did was to provide people who shouldn't be driving in the first place a chance to demonstrate the truth of their dilemma.
This morning most of the city is closed.
There was 3 (count 'em 3!) inches of snow at my apt.
Come on!
But enough of my disappointment at the lack of real snow here during my last midwest winter.
I have the day off, and I'm staying in bed.
Not exactly true I just found a website that lists all the bike rides in the entire state for 2008 and I'm downloading stuff like crazy. I could do one a week if I wanted.
One a month will be sufficient, thanks.
But it's very fun news!
Remember Hot Guy Friday is coming...and remember it's Black history month!
