The soul has greater need of the ideal than the real for it is by the real that we exist, it is by the ideal that we live

Out all over the place

Buddy X and his big outie are this weeks favorites.

I love Lenny's music but does he HAVE to be so impossibly cool all the time???

Happy Friday!

If you're fighting these winter blues with me, hang in there February is almost over.

Martini's at 5! (thankfully they're not trendy anymore. I hated all those martini concoctions the bars were coming up with. Give me some gin in a glass with a little vermouth somewhere in the room and I'm good. Teaching me the art of the Martini is the best thing Art Bratt ever did for me. I've been drinking those things for decades.)

And in just a few hours I'm gonna have a couple...and then some really good pasta too.

Oh Magoo...you've done it again!

Our shining example of an education system has stuck yet another feather in its cap.

Of course, as Tyler Durden said: "Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken." (remember Tyler Durden? He was a character created by Brad Pitt back when he used to act and not rely on his good guy personality to get him through)

The results of a study were released recently. In this study the educators of America came to a stunning conclusion...children need downtime.

Apparently they need time to themselves to process what they've learned, to apply it, and to develop skills and personality traits all their own. FUCKING AMAZING!!! Who knew?

Apparently everyone but our educators. Does anyone see this as a problem besides me? I mean really, how can a teacher possibly be expected to be an effective educator when they're led by morons who think that the results of this study are newsworthy.

I have to wonder how much it cost.
