The soul has greater need of the ideal than the real for it is by the real that we exist, it is by the ideal that we live

We have to take it back

I'd like to preface this post by saying that if you disagree with me regarding the absolute necessity that we take over health care and abolish health insurance companies then please stop reading now and go fuck yourself. That's going to be my response so it's best that you know it up front.

I cannot imagine what this would have been like if I were actually sick.

11 months ago my employer conducted their annual, which is ridiculous, enrollment in health insurance plans. As always I enrolled, and participated in the corporate hand job known as "The Wellness Assessment." This is a device in which they ask you several innocuous questions which, at some point I'm sure, they'd attempt to use said answers against you when applying for benefits if they could. During this assessment I remember clearly noting that this year, for reasons not explained, that we would NOT be assigned a confirmation number. I knew I was doomed.

Here we are at a point where I thought I might just make it scott free through the plan by my employer to rid me of the scourge that is my health care "denier" Humana, read hereafter "the rotten blood-sucking bastards" because we're switching to someone else who will likely be equally as bad, if not worse.

Last weekend I developed my annual spring sinus infection. I went to the dr. yesterday and subsequently to the pharmacy, where I was told I owe a $100 deductible.
I, of course, had a paroxysm of apoplexy in the middle of Walgreen's.

I will end up paying this $100 today in an effort to get rid of this infection. I am told this morning by my employer that they have to "research" the problem. Meaning, do absolutely nothing until I give up and fork over the C-Note.

I have decided that if I do indeed lose my job on July 1, I will then devote myself to the demolition of health insurance companies in this country and socializing medicine as it should be. (again, if you disagree with me, come blow me)

It is unconscionable that the richest most powerful nation on the earth should have a third world health care system. It is unconscionable that the likes of George W.Bush should be able to whistle merrily along his way, which of course, is what' he's done, after the feast he provided the carnivores that he called his base. It is unconscionable that we should continue to allow it.

But of course we do.

Update: I parted with the hundred bucks, and half an hour later got a call from the blood sucking bastards that they had discovered that my HR department had indeed not told them I'd completed the survey and that in the next couple of days they'd have it all worked out. This of course means that i will have to fight the reimbursement fight. During this whole debacle I dealt with 12 people. 12 people cause I got a code in by doze. Insane.

All for a runny nose.

Fuck.

Quick! A morsel for my mood:
